FINAL REVIEW
You have been tasked with designing a new funeral home in the area. With a business partner, you will pitch your ideas to your colleagues in hopes of finding an investor who shares your vision.
Guidelines:
Present using slides (PowerPoint, Google Slides, Canva, etc)
One cohesive presentation for your group
May include recordings if desired/needed
Wear professional dress on your presentation day
When it comes to the design elements, anything goes
In the past, students have used many different methods of showing the floorplan, interior and exterior of their funeral home, including Sims and other games – but please do not feel that you need to buy anything for this project!
There are lots of options out there for making a floor plan and designing rooms
Use of AI programs to generate images is allowed as long as you are able to describe the idea behind your prompt
Old-fashioned drawings will get the job done too (:
Specific requirements are as follows:
· Name of funeral home
· Logo of funeral home
· At least one brand color or a color palette
· A description of the exterior of the building or a mockup (see example)
· Floorplan of at least:
o Business office
o Arrangement office
o Viewing room
o Prep room
o Show room
o Chapel
o Refrigeration/cold storage
o You may also include in your floorplan a lobby area, front desk, bathroom for guests, storage, etc. as necessary or desired
· A selection of merchandise and their prices
o 5 caskets of at least 2 different materials
o 10 urns of at least 3 different materials
· Discuss at least one plan for expansion, such as installing a crematory or alkaline hydrolysis machine, or pursuing pet disposition
Please also provide the following to your instructor:
· General Price List from your funeral home that is compliant with FTC regulations
o GPL must include funeral home name and logo
You will be graded based on the following:
Required content included in presentation - 60 points
Completion of a compliant GPL - 25 points
Effort and creativity - 15 points
